If I were to guess, Ukraine committed massive amounts of men(including redirecting men from other parts of the front, and bringing up Azov from the reserve) because the breakthrough made them look bad at the worst possible moment.

This will only further weaken them over time(much like their 2023 copefensive, and the Bakhmut meat-grinder) as Russia continues to pound what's left of the Ukrainian Army on all fronts.
