Pick up any Silver Age comic. The fighting in that is basically like JoJo, with characters using their powers in creative, goofy, and sometimes contrived ways trying to one-up each other, and explaining it all throughout. But it's done in six-grids and nine-grids rather than huge panel spreads, so the directing is not "hype" enough for zoomers.
