I love Shaft and some of their work is extremely iconic and underrated in the western world but there is no company in the world that could have adapted monogatari in such a creative, cool, eerie, and overall wonderful way. Madoka was also fine.
That being said I'm no longer convinced shaft has the talent left to remain relevant in the future. I don't know, just nothing I've seen from them has really stuck with me. I honestly thought shaft would have been a shoe in for some adaptations I've seen over the years and it always surprised me they've come up dry. I hope they keep going though
