The problem is that players are basically forced to settle for "this is good enough, I guess", when there's a certain satisfaction in having a perfect loadout with perfect substats and numbers. I see no reason why the game has to put so much RNG in the way of this ideal. There's no reason why you can't pay like 3-4 million shell credits or maybe like 100 of one of pic related materials for a single perfect echo that has all the best stats.
Forcing players to spend absurd amounts of in-game materials is still gonna create player retention anyway, the only difference is that players aren't at the mercy of insane RNG. Why do we have to be at the mercy of RNG and waste so much time in menus?
