It's kind of a funny thing really. When a series is ongoing you're willing to be a lot more forgiving about some things. You think to yourself, surely this will pay off or this will lead to something else. You don't really go into a show expecting to it fumble completely but when it does you're just left to look back on what a waste it all was. It doesn't really retroactively kill the enjoyment you had in the moment to moment readings but you still can't be left with a more negative opinion once it's all said and done.

I often question this myself. I don't think they get embarrassed so much but I do have to wonder how self aware they all are. Because if they're honestly just playing the system I can understand it. I don't like it but I understand it. So how much of this is people who genuinely want to write a story and people who are just trying to get the next anime deal.
