Pokrovsk is tactically and strategically irrelevant, and it's only about 30 miles away from Donetsk. That should tell you a lot about how well the war is going for the ziggers.
The capture of a couple square miles of ground there didn't constitute any kind of "collapse of the front lines" and will have zero visible effect on the progress of the war.
The ziggers celebrate every tiny "victory" like it'll dramatically change the outcome of the war, it won't. We've already seen this over and over in this war.
Burning through 10s of thousands of soldiers to capture some tiny irrelevant backwater that has been bombed to shit for 3½ years of fighting and reduced to rubble isn't smart in a war of attrition.
The krauts learned that lesson in WWI. The Germans had captured significant amounts of territory in 1918, yet their industry and economy couldn't sustain such efforts and it was clear that they'd eventually lose, so their decision to sue for peace while they still had some cards to play was the correct move.
The ziggers seem to just ignore this bit of history. Monke demands "victories" at any cost, measured in captured ground. And so his army does their best to deliver such "victories", burning through men and machinery at a completely unsustainable rate in the process, completely ass-raping the russian economy and population demographics as the army gets weaker and weaker.
