The fall of DnD would also scare away the investor/parasite class. Imagine if DnD 5.5 was enormously popular and BlackRock decided it wanted a piece of the action so it started looking at the biggest rival companies. The owners of Chaosium, Free League etc seem like cool guys but do you think they'd be able to turn down a life of wealth and luxury?
