>Platinum isn't likable
I thought Platinum was funny, though I also tend to think of her as a unit with Dia and Pearl. When they were separated in the Platinum arc I lost all interest. All the previous dexholders could stand on their own, even if Ruby and Sapphire got divorced they're still interesting as individuals. I'm not sure if the DPPtrio could survive a divorce since I'm not sure if any of them have huge individual fans, people like them for the meme trio thing. Well actually maybe Dia has fans.
>volume 15 in Japan and Asia
I have one of those with original volume 15 cover (with all the MCs in chronological order from Red to Ruby) which is easily one of my all time favorite vol covers. Yet another thing Viz took away from us, billions must die.
>the hiatus
QRD?
>FRLG's half represented MATO, and E represented Yamamoto
Interesting, never saw it that way. Sauce? Either way I'm glad they always had respect for Mato in mind. Though while Yamamoto designed Crystal I think Mato designed Gold, which muddles the idea when both of them appear in E.
But what I meant by Sapphire being old Pokespe and Ruby being new Pokespe, was actually contained to the RS arc at the time:
Sapphire
>moral objectivity (same as nearly all prior MCs)
>old game mechanic (badge collecting is as old as gen 1)
>local (story's set in Hoenn, she's from Hoenn, most MCs are from the region their story takes place in)
>her "nature girl" gimmick isn't new and is technically just an extreme version of Yellow's
>rootedness = stability (less mentally ill than/doesn't change as much as Ruby)
