That time is already here. I've played Fire Emblem Heroes since it's release almost 9 years ago. I've ventured into threads and seen people be nostalgic for playing the game in middle school.
There is the shitpost about how games transformed wildly from the 2d era to the 3d era from around mid 90s to mid 2000s compared to the past 10-15 years. With all the live service models going on and how some of them like fortnite have lasted 10 years, they won't be nostalgic for older games, they'll be nostalgic for older versions of games.
Like everyone wanting to play classic wow over retail.
