Nintendo had decided to go really premium on amiibo this year, maybe because the older budget prices were no longer economical, and they're generally doing fewer of them.

The racer+ride gimmick might also mean these things can't be so easily emulated with an allmiibo, since it's probably at least two NFC chips or some sort of pass-through.
