MPJ's regular season stats are so misleading. 20ppg as a 3rd option *does* seem pretty good but you can't even count on him to get half of that on any given night.
This year he had single digits in more than half the games. And you can attribute that to his injury but last year in the Minnesota series they lost he had single digits in 5 out of the 7 games, too. Hell, the year they actually won he had finals games with 5 points and 2 points. Similarly, he can occasionally rebound very well. Or he'll have 2. The dude can just vanish off the face of the earth in the playoffs. You can't be a starter making all-star money and have multiple games per series where you do absolutely fucking nothing. I guess he can't just come out and say "yeah I was inconsistent as fuck and kept letting the team down" but he knows why he's gone.
