The size of a katana can vary a lot considering the period it was made, craftsmanship, etc. However, there's at least an average that you can base upon to get for a close approximation when it comes down to pic related.
While the blade ranged between 60-80cm, the average itself was 75cm, and in total counting the tsuka, hilt in this case, roughly around 100-110cm as the hilt size would be around 30cm.
The japanese blades have a measurement system called nagasa, yes even when the blade may be curved, which is easily solved by measuring it through a straight line from tip to the metal collar, which then uses the shaku system that is also nothing too fancy either, it's pretty much taking into account the size of the hilt and using as the measurement for the rest of the blade, to a japanese swordsmith. 1 shaku equals roughly around 30.30cm (11.93 inches for burgers)
And here's how it applies to the list of japanese swords:
>over 2 shaku = daito, Long sword (katana, tachi, nodachi)
>1 to 2 shaku = shoto, Short swords (wakizashi, chisa-katana)
>under 1 shaku = tanto, Long knives and daggers (tanto)
I'm also explaining this just in case anyone wants to do the same for Youmu, as she carries both a katana and a wakizachi, and in a less shitty way than I did for Meira so you can have an estimate in terms of height.
The frame where she readies for an attack is the clearest out of them all to be used as an example, and there's not really any difference in terms of length in comparison to the frame where her katana is pointing downwards.
Now that the explanation is out of the way, we can go over pic related while keeping in mind the information we have:
>not accounting for the hilt, we have a katana blade that on average is 75cm.
>Meira is roughly around 2 katanas and a half tall
>75 + 75 + 37.5 = 187.5cm
>to inches, 6'1
>which, would also explain why Reimu confused Meira for a man when we also put into account the height difference.
