my thoughts on Super Robot Wars are "this is a mediocre series and I don't understand why people like it". I played OG1 for the GBA, beat it, liked it despite everything. I tired playing one of the translated games for the PS1 more than a decade ago and got immensely put off by seeing Zeta Gundam characters interacting with characters from other series and having the game start from what it felt like the middle point of whatever story it was trying to tell
I also don't particularly care for the fancy attack animations. maybe SRW just isn't for me, and I say this as someone that likes mecha anime and mecha in general
