apparently all the old/ cut title cards and songs were in the first release version of season 2, only being updated after episode 2 came out
i can remember looking through them at the time, but nothing else
i do know episode 3 still uses it's original music, but only after completing the episode, and the original episode 1 music can be heard on the save transfer screen

there were massive, story changing rewrites around the time ep2 released and only continued to get worse after
it's unlikely we'll ever know the actual reason why the cabin group got shafted as hard as they did, but i know the script and the writers constantly changing were a large factor
