Meh at least Luke vs. Kenny started building in EP2. Even in EP4 there's still a choice where you have to pick a side (stay so Rebecca can rest, or leave ASAP). Jane vs. Kenny is exclusively an EP5 thing and comes out of left field because Jane isn't even a member of the cabin group. Luke vs. Kenny would've been more nuanced, with Kenny blaming Luke and his group for starting everything and getting Kenny & Sarita involved in the Carver mess. Jane saving Clem in the lake and dying for it would've put a better bow on her character too than the insanity that followed.
The original script also had Luke get bit (and Kenny be more evil) so the others abandoning Clem/Luke/Kenny/AJ to leave with Arvo would be a bit more logical.

I can see it but I feel that would made Kenny seem more unreasonably unhinged since he would be picking fights for reasons largely outside of their control, against the character that's one of the most morally good person in the series and whose entire people are also dead at this point, chances are that they could accidentally made the thing really one-sided. IMO, for that to work, they should re-do EP4 from scratch because while there was build up to their animosity in EP2, EP 3 puts a complete stop to this because Luke is not with them at Carver's and EP 4 begins to focus on Jane much more, the one good thing it does for Luke is that it begins to shows his more flawed side. I like how people need to see any character to be cold and calculated soldiers of survival when they are all just regular folks trying to survive. Kenny not only did nothing wrong, but was the most humanized of them all. You were to young to realize this fact, and still think he was the bad guy. The walking dead media shows that whatever it is, everyone has it - so long as you don't die from brain trauma, you reanimate, so everyone "carries" the virus that doesn't start until death occurs. The bite just kills you.
But whilst this works for Romero's Dead trilogy, it's retarded in TWD, as it's shown to be an actual virus that the CDC can pinpoint and show which leaves more questions than it answers. The bite even from a completely fresh reanimated zombie still turns you (so it isn't bacteria/infection), and humans who bite other humans don't turn each other.

I don't really remember the context of how it ended very well, but I really liked the dynamic of a damaged bitter man with anger issues trying his best to help the kid of his best friend while kind of imprinting his lost family onto Clementine. My take on this whole thing was that it was clearly well written if it's creating this much discourse after so many years. It's an effective trick in hopeless stories; reuniting with someone you thought was dead or you would never see again only to learn that time has changed them and they aren't the person you remember.

Kenny is an effective character because you see him as a bit of a dumb asshole in the first game but he clearly has good intentions and knows what to do to survive. He shows up in season 2 and it's a huge moment and you think HOLY SHIT ITS KENNY HELL YEAH you got your bro back. But they clearly make it evident that he IS losing it, there's no denying he's far more unhinged than in the first game.

Jane is also a good character because she immediately identifies this. Kenny has survived because his impulses are on point and his emotions control him, where Jane has survived because she has no connections and little moral compass. They're foils of each other. Kenny would 100% die for you, but he would also slaughter someone for something that might be the result of a delusion. Jane would 100% kill you in a heartbeat, but she wouldn't do that unless there was a damn good reason to and you presented yourself as a threat.

In the end, the game worked on me. I was so stoked to have Kenny back, and in the end I shot him. Jane wasn't a good person but in the moment I thought Kenny had finally snapped and was a danger to himself and others.

And I still don't know if that was the right call. And I'll never know because I heard season 3 was shit lol.

A New Frontier depends in how much you can get to care about the new characters but more often than not, some find them uninteresting to unlikeable except for the new MC. Clementine is playable only in flashbacks that try to explain how she got involved in the story, other than that she's another member of your group. The whole plot is about family drama. It's really short at least.

The Final Season goes back to Clementine as the playable character, now a teenager. She tries to find a home for her and AJ, the baby she ended up with at the end of the S2, that's now a kid she's trying to raise right. It's decent ending and one can tell Telltale was trying hard to end things on a high note despite the circumstances. There's some actual gameplay involved, with some shooting and combat sections. Worth it to see how the whole series ends.

Yeah, the game makes it easy to hate Larry, but the guy probably did a lot of work. Even in EP2 when everyone's starving he's up working on the fence. Lilly was the better leader before she went crazy, and she even says if Kenny opened his eyes he'd see that she's doing everything to protect the group, which includes Kenny's family. She also taught the group how to shoot and aim.
To be fair I do think Kenny made the right call killing Larry, but the way the game goes about it is a bit much. They could've talked it through more instead of having Lee drag Lilly away as Kenny fucking obliterates her dad's head. Like at least wait a bit, it's not like walkers have hyperspeed so just smash his head at the earliest sign of turning.

Kenny was a decently written character, where most others were not. He is annoying because he can't compromise on anything but he constantly gets shit done and actually has ideas, even if they're questionable. Also, both seasons are retarded in the way that they always prove kenny right in the end. Larry was a funny character I guess, but most players just wanted to kill him. He punched Lee, effectively trying to kill him and it just gets glossed over, of course people are going to feel justified in splattering his brains on the ground. Truth is that every season has terrible writing moments and are hugely contrived, with most story beats being nonsensical and/or forced. If Kenny got treated with the same respect as Lee and Clem did, he would be even more of a fan favorite, up there with Lee. First season is the best because every single person is flawed, except Clem of course, but only Lee actually overcomes his flaws in an interesting way, at the time anyway. Season 2 was stupid. Still love all seasons, except 3

For me, the highs of s2 are higher than those of s3, same can be said about its lows and it does have a lot of missed potential that keep people talking about it. S3 at worst is a plateau of mediocrity that realized its flawed potential, being a story with a massive identity crisis and for some the biggest sin is not caring about what happens. CPR is not intended to revive people, it's intended to keep oxygenated blood flowing through their system until more useful medical help can show up (usually in the form of an ambulance) - needless to say, there was no advanced medical help coming in this circumstance, and being trapped in a small room with a 7 foot tall 300lb zombie is not a good idea. That's not even considering that Larry had outright attempted to murder Lee at the end of Episode 1, and continuously threatens him throughout Episode 2.
Not siding with Kenny on the Larry situation is hard proof that Lee is retarded and can't be trusted. You can at least give Lilly a bit of leeway here because it's her father, it's understandable for her to not want to see his skull smashed in.

That's enough for me to care more about it man. I'll even go as far as to say that the new cast of S2 for how much of missed potential they have are more interesting than the one from S3 with a few exceptions. Nick's struggling with being a fuck up due to killing his mom, Sarah being setup as a foil for Clem that's too sheltered to survive, Rebecca starting the season as the opposite of a maternal figure towards Clem, Luke being a charming fuck-up, Carver in general and even Jane started as an interesting character until the last segment of Epised 5 that fucked her. Mike and Arvo are rightfully shit tier (in writing and actions) and they can get fucked, most I can say about Bonnie is that she feels like such a genuine piece of shit, an actual rat of a person and that at least has a place here.

Compare that to the other cast composed of the likes of Kate who gets a forced romance and most of the run time she's stuck in a hospital, Tripp whose biggest woes are getting his dick wet, Eleanor who betrays the group at the drop of a hat, Jesus doing a cameo, Ava being infuriating and receiving the funniest death in the series, Joan being the worst villain of the series and the rest of the New Frontier being too meh like Clint and Lingard. Its biggest highlights for sure are Javi and David (and their dad), that rooftop scene is excellent but then there's the caveat of them also being forced into a love triangle plot that always ends the same, Gabe who I don't hate like most, has some good writing going for him but he also can be very grating to watch, and Conrad who is a good determinant character for once but also feels more like a tech demo than someone substantial. I do like things about it, but I don't think I'll ever care more about it than S2.

Fuck off. From Episode 4 onwards, the game just paints Kenny like he’s some kind of monster. But the most “fucked up” thing he actually did was (rightfully) bully Arvo, the Russian kid who, let’s not forget, tried to get the group robbed. I don’t care if you stole the meds or not; he still tried to pin Clem’s group. So fuck him.
And then you’ve got Mike and Bonnie. They literally tried to steal the truck and leave Clementine and the baby to die. Bonnie even expected Clem, a kid, to risk her life in a freezing river to save an adult, and when she didn’t, Bonnie treated her like shit for it. Mike & Bonnie never once tried to take Clem or the baby with them; he just wanted to rob them and run with the supplies with Arvo
And don’t forget Jane. She manipulated Clem into thinking Kenny was a danger to the group and pushed him over the edge and “prove” she was right about him. put everyone in danger just to win an argument.
If you still think Kenny was the crazy one, you are an faggot. Season 2's last few episodes were clearly rushed. .it was clear the writers had a hate boner for Kenny for some reason
