I hate that no one mentions how selfish Jane's suicide method was. She chose to hang herself. Not shoot herself in the head, but hang herself.
She did so knowingly in a world currently experiencing a zombie apocalypse and she knew damn well that if she hanged herself she would turn into a zombie.
The rope could have snapped after she died and when Clementine came back and opened the door ZombieJane would have killed her and AJ.
