Yeah it really was no choice, they should have gone with a different character and just killed off Jane or had her flake out and leave the party with supplies. A better arc for Jane would be killing her off at the house where they escaped through the roof and she sacrifices herself saving Clem. It would’ve worked better as an ironic arc since she was always a lone wolf and the moment she tried to save anyone she instantly dies.
