season 2 went through multiple rewrites before ending
the first story was focused on clementine and christa's relationship and getting to proto-wellington, some characters in the final game appear, like an early form of the cabin group, kenny, and sarita all exist in some way or another
kenny dies at some point but iirc early sarita lived, ending would've been clementine choosing to stay with the group in the low class part of wellington, or getting into the higher class part because she's a child
second draft was by the ceo, apparently it sucked ass, the rumors about a tiger come from here and there would've been a segment where the group is being stalked by what they think is a super zombie, but is actually an escaped tiger from a nearby zoo, apparently kenny vs luke originated here but i can't say for sure
the beta script is the fabled super dark story we almost got, lots of the early release material and first ep1 release build were in line with it, but the overall story is pretty unknown
ending would've been abandoning aj for a better chance of survival or lying down with him in the snow

the story was completely overhauled at least three times, the only thing that stayed consistent across all of them was the basic plot of episode 1 and kenny coming back
the final version is pretty much a toned down version of the edgy script with some hail marys from the original draft (getting to wellington)

we were robbed of an actual proper continuation with s2 and then we were robbed again from the edge kino replacement
what we got was a heavily toned down and rewritten version of the edgy story with the ending of the original
