This is why I categorically refuse to buy remakes of games: it's essentially telling the publishers and the devs that they don't need to have any original vision for their games and just rehash old ideas ywet still make bank.

I'm just one person, but the originals of most remade games have artistic merit and genuine sincerity that's lacking in the remakes (so in essence, soul). You can add some quality of life features to make the actual mechanics better and make it run on modern systems without compromising the actual artistry in the OG games, but remakes basically shit on all of that and replace the original vision of the devs, artists, director and producer with a poor imitation just to appeal to the unwashed masses. And the saddest part is it works.

At least there are some people that don't fall for it at least.
