It's silly for the show to start by saying these three types of beings are in direct competition with one another instead of just living alongside each other as different avenues of human immortality (with synths not even being human at all), but I can kind of understand if it means long-term - as in over the course of centuries - that one will eventually win out to carry on the legacy of humanity.
