EoS is mostly used for shitposting purposes since none of the big gacha really get EoS'd (anything that makes more than 1 mil a month). That said if it's a game you really enjoy I can see it being a dreadful experience. I was around for the last days of Dragalia Lost and it was very somber and depressing.
But that being said I've never stuck around to the end of a gacha so I can't say I know the feeling personally. I usually quit before/when a game is going to shit so when it dies I don't feel any regret. I got my time out of it, even after spending money, so it's whatever.
