When you stick that many weapons in a game you end up with most of them being mediocre and the rest of them being utterly broken garbage.
Same problem PoE has with it's skill tree, they made the selection really really big for no reason other than they wanted to have a really really big selection of weapons, nevermind what it might do to the game's balance (or lack thereof).
