>I always watch the clean, virtually flawless gameplay of pro players with over 6k hours clocked in such as Pengu, Spoit, Beaulo, Doki, etc
Pengu's aim is shit, he has said so himself. He is proof you can win a major on gamesense alone.
>How does one get to be on that level in Siege?
You have to remember these guys are playing the highest level of siege as a full time job. They are going to improve exponentially faster than your average ranked player.
>But then, I look at the popular champ, non-pro content creators like Poxonlox, Athieno, and Varsity...they've got at least 5k hours logged in Siege, but despite being champs, you can see by their lifetime ranked kda they aren't anything special and regularly get shit on in gunfights
Champ 2.0 is trivial to get especially with a stack.
>How does one actually get to be GOOD at siege, and not just "good"?
Good mechanics are nice to have but at the end of the day it doesn't matter how good your aim is if you get crossfired or flashbanged. Champ players crutch on their mechanics. There are numerous examples of mechanics monsters who plateau in tier 3/4 because they don't have the brains for pro league. The most obvious comparison of the ranked and comp playstyle can be seen in beaulo's old frag vids vs how he plays now. All those flashy 1 taps are impressive but they're not consistent. Beaulo has said he is a much better player now because he doesn't put himself in situations where he has to land those shots to begin with. Fett did a good video on this this with W7M as an example.

Get yourself a stack and start grinding scrims 24/7. Review your games, pick out every mistake you can, and never make them again. Learn the power positions on every map and practice them over and over until you master them. Consistency is everything.
