So how come the US Navy retired these things at the end of the war instead of permanently attaching them to all fleets? Would make for great PR if every time a Carrier Strike Group docked in a foreign port, that they'd moor the Ice Cream Boat at the closest public dock and just let all members of the public come onboard for a free pint of ice cream.
