Thank you to whoever responded to my thread the other day.
My Kroger now carries whole milk low moisture mozzarella (boars head) for $10/lb. I cut it with store brand Munster for $4/lb and it works well enough. The net result is a $7/lb blend and I'm this economy that's good enough. Wife says the blend is better than the strait mozz. Couldn't find any mild white cheddar she the monetary jack was almost as much as the mozz (they were out of the big bricks) so I didn't bother.
