The United States was founded by bourgeoisie intellectuals in an act of direct rebellion to their rightful king. It was a left-wing act. The Declaration of Independence is a left-wing document. The United States is a left-wing country and always has been. To be a true right-winger you have to reject the entire idea of America and its ideology.
