Hang on. If that was the site of the Biblical temple, where is the water supply for cleaning up after the continuous animal sacrifice?
Also why does it need 60ft high walls to protect it if it was the most holy center of reverence for miles around?
Also why does Josephus talk about it being so throughly destroyed by tbe "Romans" that it was impossible to see where it stood.
It isn't the Biblecal temple, Avi. It literally can't be. It is probably the remains of a "Roman" castle. We have similar ruined rectangular forts in England.
