>Why would anybody be excited for this after the dumpster fire that was KH3?
No i'm not at all, series is kind of dead to me. Have 0 desire to buy it, maybe will check the wiki in 10 years to see what a dumpster fire it was.

99% of the main story is basically tied up and the lore is so ridiculous at this point that I don't care about the few minor lose ends. The teaser for the next game looked like a total shark jump that was just going to double down on milking it. I didn't give a shit about Yosura or Versus or whatever shit they're trying to force into it from the writers failed side project. I also sort of just hate Sora as a character and don't think I can get over it.

In hindsight the writing was never that great and the main cast has only gotten more annoying over time. First game was good as a surreal, mystical, fantastical coming of age story and basically the only thing that ever got the series off the ground (and half of it is butchered and retconned), two started getting pretty stupid but there were at least some cool fights, three just went full retard and felt like an actual joke.
Series lost all grounding, who cares about drama, death and sacrifice in a series where you can just revive anyone who ever died multiple times in a couple cutscenes.

BBS was okay but was basically just a blatant star wars ripoff.
Days was basically the only KH story I consider to stand on its own in terms of actually having good original writing and compelling characters but they butchered them in three and I don't see anything else happening with them beyond fanservice cameo appearances. Maybe i'd consider playing it if they killed every other character off and rebooted it with the days trio as the leads.
