We all remember Honey Bee Inn right? Remember how Honey Bee was an all inclusive club where the club owner wants to ensure the patrons that beauty cannot be held by any constraints such as gender? No you don't because that's not how Honey Bee was presented. The Slums of Midgar are a terrible place. Everyone there is either a thief, a junkie, or a poor worker trying to dodge the other two. And the Wall Market is a place where people in the Slums, and some people on the Plate, go to distract themselves from their shitty lives for a short while. Everything is for sale there, including sex. And Honey Bee (was) a love motel where people could have a relatively nice place to fuck. Cloud won't even allow Aerith to enter the place. The dancers there think that Cloud is yet another weirdo. Going to the backroom, one dancer is freaking out because she's hoping she still looks good so she isn't thrown out on the street. Yes this is a terrible way to live. That's why its important that Shinra is defeated.

Remake glosses over all of this. The hostesses are happy to be there, Aerith is happy to be there, Andrea asked for you by name. Does Andrea live here? Why does he want to assure Cloud that he's beautiful, a question he did not ask? That stage was custom built for Cloud to change clothes, is this a normal thing here? Well I know why Honey Bee was changed and I'll post the interview explaining it in a minute.
