How come the bass drums dont have any bass?

Any /lit/-approved books on how to think?
Recently, I've stopped any sort of study and even reading; all I do is use colloquial english. I think because of this, I think in conversations with people. I imagine scenarios in my head and how I would respond to them (I reckon this is why I have found myself speaking aloud to myself more frequently lately). Maybe this is an effective way of thinking, but for me it just results in gossip essentially. So I am looking for good books on thinking critically, logically, and deattachedly. I really cant stand going on like this.

My moroccan oneitis of 2 years came to my work yesterday; we were both blushing and she was the one making conversation with me.
