Speaking of the guys who made a thing, and then much more popular thing.
I was browsing through my old stuff, notes and bookmarks and whatnot, trying to find the game that got stuck in my mind, despite playing not that much of it. Finally found the name, Blood Zero. It was a top down action adventure with some RPG elements. And a some sort of party system with a bunch of companions with different combat abilities. As far as I remember you could have 3 or 4 characters in a party at the same time and you could switch which one you control directly. I thought it was pretty neat. The whole game had some sort of edgy punk rock vibe to it. Very edgy. But I was an edgelord back then, so I liked it.
So anyway, I looked up who made it, and turns out it was James Silva from Ska Studios, who made Salt And Sanctuary, of all things. And a bunch of other games for XBLA/XBLIG. And some more stuff even before that, as Totally Screwed Software, Blood Zero included. Apparentely he was making games since 2001.
