I am having an interesting beer (only 1 though) that is a "blonde rye"

And, it has been made with "rescued rye bread" (rye bread that was otherwise going to go to waste due to not being sold and reaching expiration date) and I think that recycling bread into beer is a very nice idea. Taste wise, kind of has a homemade lager feel, you can kinda taste the bread in a sort of off-flavor, not bad but kinda cheap and lower class taste. Kind of like someone soaked rye bread in normal beer and it got a sort of rye bread-like bitter kick to it.

I like the low class/poor taste when it's made right, it's extremely rustic and homemade and can compete with any "high class" products. Definitely a distinct twist to a normal lager. Something you could imagine a wife brewing at home for her husband who works all day at the coal mines
