there is a contested health system where when you get hit you take damage, but you can heal yourself by dealing damage. but on higher difficulties this isnt balanced and your only option is to avoid damage because you have a huge negative hp modifier and also getting hit often stun locks you. you dont have to kite and run away, but a lot of players do. the real way to play aggressively is to kill a majoris enemy as fast as you can then you can do an execute animation in which you are invulnerable.
