>How does landlord-kun get his hands on such contemporary clothes?
Goes to the same place all the youkai girls get their modern underwear, duh.
>sometimes it's excessive and saps colors away from images, sometimes it's not there at all
Yup, yup! No vignetting, but the colour sappage is a persistent fuck. Not helped by my personal LORA beiging the colour palette to begin with. Suspect the reason is that a lot of the dataset for screentones is, by nature, black and white; still, you'd at least expect consistency in that case. I don't mind washed-out colours, but the irremediable randomness is murdering it for me. YMM obviously V, but, if you'd like to give it another crack, I found these values the least cunty when plugged into my default preset in WAIv14:
>Pos: (crosshatching, linear hatching:1.85), (screentones), {prompt}
>Neg: (greyscale:1.5), (monochrome, traditional media, paper texture:1.2)
Caveat being that the positives need to go to the very front of the prompt. Your style list may or may not apply them so if you've got something else in there with {prompt}; check metadata for actual final ordering.

>replace all the character art with gens
Hm. Can't help but be wary of that. You know how this fandom feels about AI art. The notion smacks a tad disrespectfully to me, let alone those who loathe sloppa with a passion. I dunno. Honestly, I just want to stay in my corner and do my thing. Messing with somebody else's stuff is...

>New to using actual descriptions rather than tags. A bit difficult to direct the image
Advise not getting too hung up on that, as it's normal for WAN. No matter how "good" your prompt is, you're going to get a lot of duds. Just how it's going to be until we get true intermediate control a'la CN. Some LORAs do work, but on the flip side they tend to be overspecialised. If I see one more T*kT*k dance...
