I've got to admit, ever since I tried to "find my own style", in truth I was merely trying to get as close as possible to this guy's style since at the time there weren't any LoRAs of it and artist tags didn't work since he's also a slopper.
As it turns out, there IS a LoRA of his style after all that's been out for 6 months, I just hadn't actually thought of trying to look for it again in the meantime: https://civitai.com/models/1317297?modelVersionId=1487079

Thing is, though? Now that I'm finally able to replicate his style perfectly, I'm honestly not sure if I even want it anymore... I REALLY like the texturing and shading on it, but I don't like the way his faces look and it seems that I can't manipulate the LoRA well enough to change them all that well. After some experimentation, OP is as close as I got to keeping my facial style while integrating the aspects of his style that I like, but it seems to be wildly inconsistent...

Does anyone else also have issues with their AI generating random unprompted yellow/orange robots?

What model and tags? The only thing I have trouble with is getting chibis by themselves, it almost always generates the character normally and then a copy of it floating nearby or in the background.

Also used to have large fat birds appearing on the ground randomly.

Yeah, well. Culling LORAs for individual features is a hit or miss. Sometimes you can simply negative out what you want to omit; sometimes upscaling with the LORA turned down/disabled turns the trick. It depends on what exactly you wish to keep and how well it can be tagged and recognised by the base model, I suppose.

Why on earth so high? Concept bleed does happen when your weights are jacked up, that's a fact. Though, I can't establish why it produces yellow robots in this case; best guess is "wrainman" is close to a name or franchise featuring such things. In any event, looking at danbooru, the guy appears to be aping kanpa_(campagne_9), so perhaps go with that instead?

Nah, even with 1girl, solo, etc they just struggle with it. Even danbooru has a "chibi only" tag which sometimes helps but not much.
I ended up resorting to using artist tags for artists who only draw chibis or similar (plover, rokugou daisuke, misosiru_0224, shitacemayo, hana kazari) to mix in and that works a LOT better, pic rel

It IS a bit of a pity that the design of her dress/thighhighs/ears changes between the panels... FYI, there's a "trick" for keeping details consistent-ish all across, namely upscaling the whole comic at once at a moderate-to-high denoise - provided the base image's differences aren't extremely pronounced. 0.5 does it for me. Mixes up individual expressions, usually, but that's the easiest element to inpaint. Food for thought.

You see how nicely textured Rika's hair and clothes are on the OP image? And the way her skin looks near her wrist on the hand that's holding the wrench? That's what I really want to keep because I REALLY like that about Hachi's style, but I have no idea how to go about tagging something like that. I tried linear hatching as a workaround but it's not really working.

I originally used it at 2 but I feared that it was losing effectiveness with this new LoRA... not that it matters since those mistakes were happening at the old intensity as well. I thought that since he has such few tags on danbooru maybe increasing the tag intensity would help the AI better recognise it and/or emphasize his features...

Already tried his style but I don't really like how it makes the pupils look, picrel is an old test. I'll try it again with this new LoRA I got though. Actually, I think I'll just scour danbooru for a bunch of different artists again and see if I can come up with a way to manipulate this LoRA in a way I like.

For me it's hard to pinpoint in that case, I do like it when my images have non-flat lighting but I think the line at which an image starts to have semi-realistic lighting is just too blurry. For example, you could make an argument that >>49971788 has semi-realistic lighting, but it's semi-realistic in a completely different way from the image you posted. I tend to pay more attention to things like texture. Clothes, skin, hair, so-on. Style too, of course.

In general though I like just about anything as long as it has a clear, distinct style that isn't just hyper-realistic or SD1.5-like.

I've grown to not care much for that whole, specific brand of high fidelity mimicry you just kind know is AI at a glance now. Since I associate it with actual trash slop. You know, the kind of garbage where people will haphazardly gen a ton of images, pick out a handful to show off, then paywall the full folder before moving on to another 10 characters that week.
It's why I like these threads despite just commenting occasionally. anons experimenting, adding flourish or extra input into their gens to reach a desired result, or even just trying to achieve a specific scenario can add a lot to the perception of an image. Even if they too opt for higher levels of fidelity, it tends to manifest in differing styles that set things apart.

I'm on WAI IL v14 (15 isn't really doing great with my artist mix). It took a bit of trial and error to get a skeleton on Kisume's lap, but not excessively so that I had to resort to doodling one & throwing it in i2i. I still edited the picture a little to add one blood splatter on Kisume's clothes, fix her open eyes in spite of writing closed eyes in the prompt, and one of her twintails had 3 hair bobbles. I then sent the edited image through low denoise i2i (0.3).

It happens to be the most efficient way i've had to render dynamic lighting in my artstyle mix. I've tried two other LoRAs for lighting, but they seem to affect the background more than the character.

Got it. By the way, they're very strict about hand imperfections over there (and other body anatomy problems), so if your gens have missing (or extra) fingers in them, they'll likely get deleted. That Tenkai gen you posted where she's wearing Aya's clothes, for example, is probably not gonna make it. They do at least tell you what's wrong with the images though, and even give you a chance to correct them.

That being said, Sanae is the same height as Reimu. Not even an inch taller like shown here. Aya is surprisingly accurate because while she's taller you have to account for her Tengu Tippy Toe shoes in her sprite making her likely Reimu's height too. While Sakuya is taller here she should be a littttle bit taller considering she's taller than Aya with her Tengu shoes on and is Yukari's height

as for the actual bust sizes here. The beautiful thing about Touhou is such things are subjective and to the individual's personal taste, with all interpretations and ideas valid. Nothing too exciting. For the Sekibanki pic, mono colours + excessive amounts of hatching in the base gen. Turns out, visual noise in the base ben makes upscaling substantially more random at the same denoise levels. Might have an application? Being a pain in my behind besides. Seiga pic, gave it an extra 1x, 0.4 denoise after redrawing. Can't say I'm 100% in on it; cleaned up the lines a little too much.
Needs more experimenting overall; this whole hatching thing's unstable as all... as has been remarked already. When it hits, it's great; I love how the ^ above gens turned out. Lunatic Difficulty: Replace all the characters and rewrite the story to end up making a pseudo-fangame out of it. For example I feel like WBaWC would lend itself really well to some kind of Makai-themed reskin due to Keiki's backgrounds being reminiscent of Shinki's and because you can easily reskin the Haniwas into Dolls to make Mayumi into Alice, replace Youmu with Mima while you're at it.

Whole point of this request is (1.) I want to see if AI gens can be used for a Touhou game and not look bad because of the Touhou 20 fuss and (2.) I just like the style of a lot of the anons here and want to see how it looks like ""in motion"" in a Touhou game, even if its literally just the portraits and boss sprites (though there's actually a cut-off point where in Subterranean Animism onwards ZUN adopted the standard practice of having only different facial expression sprites to go on top of the basesprite so for the games pre-Mountain of Faith you can totally do more dynamic posing with the different expression sprites since they're fullbody)

This may be outside of the realm of your request, but i'd fit it under the 2nd non lewd umbrella. This is the personification of a Touhou game character. A few bells & whistles were added as a nod to greek earth based mythology, but there are 2 on the nose hints in the picture that'll clue you in on who this is.
Probably one of my most through works yet, despite deviating little from the obsurce base image taken, I only managed to fiddle with the pose a little. Nonetheless, i'm happy with the result.

You should be happy with the result this is a fantastic design. Very authentic and plausibly Touhou, y'know fun fact originally the Catfish was supposed to be the final boss of SWR and part of me seriously doubts ZUN would have made it a literal Catfish like it was in Hisoutensoku. So something like this probably would have been used. I've said it before I've only seen one Person use the fact that gradient hair is a natural hair colour in the Touhou universe for OC design and wish more people used it and lo and behold. Clever having the sidelocks mimic the Catfish's whiskers (I also like how one lock is blonde and the other brown)

I agree actually, the point is more for an alternate look rather than trying to make something "better," as an OG minecraft kid I loved playing around with different texture packs to get different looks at the same familiar game but I always found the base game's textures irreplaceable. Plus as I said, I like you guys' style. But also as I suggested you could have fun either replacing characters or trying to do a complete reimagining of a game while you're at it. I've thought about throwing the same challenge to the good folks in the OC threads 103anon is likely to make good shit as always however I might hold off on that until my own drawing skills are par enough to actually participate in the same challenge myself (since that would actually encourage people to join in)

Yup, yup! No vignetting, but the colour sappage is a persistent fuck. Not helped by my personal LORA beiging the colour palette to begin with. Suspect the reason is that a lot of the dataset for screentones is, by nature, black and white; still, you'd at least expect consistency in that case. I don't mind washed-out colours, but the irremediable randomness is murdering it for me. YMM obviously V, but, if you'd like to give it another crack, I found these values the least cunty when plugged into my default preset in WAIv14:

Honestly, despite the loose connections. I feel like Yukari naturally lends herself to an eldritch vibe. The whole, gaps, borders, and boundaries thing thing she has going on really lean into those kinds of themes.
It wouldn't be surprising if ZUN took some direct lovecraft inspirations and just doesn't make too much noise over it. Especially with how some Hifuu stuff is handled.
