I also understand where you're coming from. On the one hand, a lot of what people think are heart problems are indeed psychological (particularly anxiety disorders), but on the other hand medical professionals just brush people off and don't take them seriously, particularly in regards to mental health. I was a psych major and was going through some shit, so I called the suicide helpline one night and they told me to hang up, that they didn't want to talk to me but they aren't allowed to hang up. I tried to kill myself that night, and ended up in a paychiatric hospital, where I saw a psychiatrist for a few minutes a day, and ahe kicked me out after telling me that she doesn't care if I kill myself but she will only keep me if I say I want to harm women (something she brought up out of the blue).

I mean, I sympathize, but at the same time I do think that through lack of common sense he has shown he is legitimately a threat to the public, and there does need to be something authorities can do in a situation like this where someone is clearly deranged. Red flag laws in general shouldn't be a thing, but I do think he should be evaluated and have someone check up on him on a regular basis.
