toaism is so weird in that it is not meant to be taken literally, but there are so many shysters, shams, crooks, etc that have muddied the beliefs throughout history. todays toaism is never yesterdays taoism. there is always a different interpretation.
what i am trying to autisticaly explain is that the "immortality elixir" was most likely at some point a figurative device or one of toaisms crazy stories like riding a dragon to a floating island.
