Eh in this case it was poor development by the developers. The hitboxes aren't properly tightened so you can miss half the time, your primary flashlight drains batteries like holy hell on hard and you need it half the time, the maps collisions can sometimes be uptight making engagements absolutely brutal, enemies can take multiple shotgun blasts to the head (which is a sin for shotguns), annnnd the shotgun sucks to use. There's a lot more, however, I spoke of most of the prime issues in the game. I think the shotgun may not be entirely the developers fault. I think they used the pre-existing assets in half life, which, if that's the case, is going to really disappoint me once I get around to playing half life for the first time.
