OW had people screaming about sjw shit when it was revealed. It started succeeding anyway, but Blizzard being Blizzard ruined it over time. There are people who would somehow call lack of PvE to be because of "woke" and not because Blizzard is greedy piece of shit studio.
The thing is that majority of vidya these days are "woke", and when AAA-industry have inflated budgets and games fail, people latch on "woke" as the reason.
Was SW Battlefront 2 "woke", or was it just shit game with "surprise mechanics"? Why was Apex Legends so successful at launch despite being "woke" as fuck? Why do Nintendo games constantly succeed despite being "woke"(BotW Link crossdressing being requirement for storyline completion for example)? Why was Metaphor: ReFantazio a success despite having constant diversity and other "woke" shit along unsexy female characters with no curves? Why don't nippon JRPGs with cute/sexy girls constantly not sell as much as the mainstream "woke" slop, if sexy girls should be the reason vidya sell and "woke" should be the main reason games fail?
It would be cool if people actually considered that western corpo greed and constant firing and hiring of devs for better quarter results for the shareholders would have at least SOMETHING to do with why western vidya sucks and flops nonstop. Meanwhile gacha keeps raking in money because gambling encouraging shit but even some Korean incels or "chuds", that for some fucking reason even /v/ sides sometimes, tilts over pinching hand gesture.
It is all around shitty situation that corpo greed is always ignored when it comes to discussion on why these inflated budget games keeps flopping. It's like people don't want to admit that there might be something wrong with this industry, but it's always because "woke". Nothing else can be ever blamed. Hell, if you even point out shit like "Sony is trying to make 15 live service games at the same time because they want the next GTAV", you are called commie
