What level does MoP start at? Can I not make a fresh hero to adventure through it from level 1?

What is your biggest noob moment since you started wow?

I started my first character who was male human warlock and around lvl 30 i got quest to go to southshore.

So since name literaly said SOUTHshore, i decided to go off coast of wesfall, swim around into north stv and die like 100 times from random animal mobs till i reached booty bay.I was confused where is quest turn in so i asked in general chat and everyone called me moron till 1 person explained what i did wrong.

I wasted over 3 hours dying and corpse running whole stv.
