yeah but by your logic shouldn't they make themselves look like handsome and beautiful ASIANs? don't get me wrong i agree with your sentiment but there are beautiful asian people out there like picrel who they should be depicting themselves as. with at least some features that suggest they are asian even if its just black hair. a lot of anime characters just look straight up white, like no asian looks remotely similar to them.
it could even be something unrealistic like picrel where theres likely only 1 person in the world who looks like this.
this whole focus on beauty is due to their insecurities i bet. western cartoons are not about making characters beautiful, it's about making them as comical and funny and retarded looking as possible because you are supposed to laugh at them.
