tldr one of its main messages was that the world didn't revolve around you... only for the plot to unironically revolve around its main character because the main villain was not only some sort of platonic ideal of him but also YOU the character you created was also an alternate version of him, and i think several parts of reality also hinged on said main villan existing, so making the game straight up ontologically about the main character failed to deliver said message
