I never said the Kvasir scenes were done well. In fact I agree that her scenes were lazily done. But she was absolutely necessary to justify Seidr choosing (You) for the controversial soulbaby subplot.

>She offers some nice connective tissue to book 4 but nothing about her specifically served a purpose.

I disagree. I thought her scenes were humorous and gave Sharena quality screentime. More importantly, her scenes help illustrate the plot gimmick of the chronological time being different from the progression order of the story. And she does give a little bit of insight regarding Vanaheimr Gods and how they feel about Asgardr. (or perhaps this is just her home screen line).

If you swap her out for some inanimate object, the book would suffer. You're trading out the first scene where you came out with "WTF is she talking about? ah who cares" and the second scene where you go "ooooooh that's what she meant, Sharena get to work!". And I believe she was hindering Njordr's plans when hiding the Macguffin he had you look for him to power up Seidr. Can't remember if this her intentionally trying to go after the Golden Curse herself.f

Again, I don't mind saying the scenes could have been written a lot better or some aspects were poorly executed or underused like the characters. But to say some stuff was a waste of time or could be replaced, I disagree, this book was tightly written in comparison to the other books. Even a lot of lines served a purpose in foreshadowing the identity of Gull. Kvasir and Seidr referenced each other a lot with lines like "Time is Light and Light is Time" or "You musn't lie to a goddess". You have to go back to read the chapters as the foreshadowing was really really good. And so some of the criticisms and suggestions you guys are making are totally regressive.
