I think people are underestimating how good byleth might be. Melee frontliners are one of the few good archetypes in this meta, and having one with potent and a ballista is nuts. He’ll have to change out his special to archrival to shit on Camilla to hit his peak, but I think he’s gonna be really good

Were Byleths ever good? Both duo Byleths were good for like two months. And Lego Manleth was good as edelgard counter for a while but other than that, they always were dead on arrivals.

That's a pretty big deal, I'd tailor your criticism to be the issue of them "telling, not showing" meaning they failed to build the reader's appreciation of Kvasir as opposed to her being purely a vehicle to justify Seidr choosing Kiran to have soul baby with.

Nerthuz was critical to breaking the curse as it was her blessing (*2x) that ultimately powered up the breidablik to be strong enough to take Gull down.

Heidr was a Red Herring to mislead people into believing she was Gull, also humanized Seidr in pushing for them to interact and congregate with the Askr crew. Ultimately she was a component to continue the cycle of the Golden Curse and her death is why Gull was excessively spiteful in how she killed Njordr (in the Japanese version she killed him by accelerating his age so he could live his worst nightmare of withering away and dying).

Book 7, yes could have been written a lot better. But given how it's the FEH writing team, and their previous books SUCKED, this book was a welcome surprise and even more so that they pulled off a cohesive timeloop story. It's the best book we got this game.

Someone should make artwork of this. With the 4 just standing in fear, sweating as Seidr looks for Gullveig only to be seen floating in the corner. Arguably the best moment in FEH's story

No individual book is good. The only “good” books are the ones that build upon what was established prior. Book 6 is the best book we had because it finalized Veronica’s (aka the best written FEH character) character arc and wrapped up the conflict between Askr and Embla.
