I'm going to be frank. I find the whole Sonally and Sonamy crap completely stupid, as Sonic is not even the same character in the versions where Sally exists. He's a different interpretation of the character. This is like complaining about, say, Spectacular Spider-man having Peter and Gwen in something of an arc while Mary Jane was a false love interest.

It is silly, Sonamy fans always act like victims when their biggest obstacle came from a world where Sonic was a different person to whom Amy was in love with.


Also, I personally hold the belief that Sonic for one reason or another will leave the Wachoski's home by movie 4, as a metaphor for growing out of the nest. Likewise, Shadow wasn't adopted by Tom and Maddie, so Amy being adopted is pure headcanon that may not even happen.
