Man, how fucking weak, stupid, incompetent and completely lacking in forethought are the people of Sonic's world if he had to save them 900 fucking times?

This is another thing this franchise borrows from capeshit that I hate. This complete lack of worldbuilding when it comes to the general population. Did these people never actually think to unite and defend themselves by any means necessary? Do they really look at their devastated cities and go "Man, I'll just leave it up to the random ass heroes next time instead of taking precautions and arming up".
Like, fuck. Make the main characters part of the world, not the whole fucking world. Nothing about this is believable in the slightest.

Uh, if someone in a story asks a character "Why are you doing (conventionally unbelievable thing)?", I'd expect the character to explain their motives and make it more believable and understandable. So that, you know, they're not a shitty character who makes no sense?
