Kinda, Power's voice actor, Fairouz Ai, asked Fujimoto this question during the last Jump Festa event in December. His response did make it sound like the Devil-devil will be important later on. However, you have to keep in mind that this could be simply a generic answer he gave because it's unlikely for him to randomly deny the existence of the Death devil in an interview, even if he didn't plan to use it.
