The Devil-devil theory is starting to look more and more plausible with each new chapter. The manga itself already alluded to that direction when the Chainsaw Man church spokesperson, pretending to be Chainsaw Man, talked about a "world without devils", led by Adam and Eve (Denji and Asa). Then there was the interview in which Fujimoto was asked about the possible existence of a Devil-devil, to which his editor responded that they can't talk about that yet due to possible spoilers.

Fumiko is now implying that Death is lying and that we still don't know about her real intentions, meaning that a possible unknown plot point has yet to be revealed. It makes even more sense once you realize that Yoru refused to weaponize Denji, even when she just had the chance to do so. Why did Death tell us that Yoru's current goal is to weaponize Denji, when this is in contradiction to Fumiko telling us that Yoru left him alive due to her love for him? Death isn't telling the truth. The only thing I don't understand is why she refuses to mention the existence of the Devil-devil to anyone. Perhaps she truly does believe that Yoru or she herself will cause the apocalypse right now? Maybe she is just that clueless, but I find that hard to believe. Even if that's the case, I do still think the Devil-devil will turn out to be the real King of Terror. Erasing it would be a guaranteed way of stopping the apocalypse from occurring, and Death probably knows that. There is no point in erasing herself or war if she suspects that the Devil-devil is the real King of Terror.

The supporting cast is WAY weaker than part 1 for sure. And Denji is a massive downgrade. Asa is likeable but she basically fucks off when war stars getting her powers. War is fine though, she's fun.

Would she really need to appear less hostile to Nayuta? especially since her hostility was aimed towards Asa, whom Nayuta cared nothing for. And again, Nayuta rejected her offer to work together while Asa lied there unconscious, no reason to just leave her be, especially since these two strategies aren't mutually exclusive, it's not like Asa couldn't feel indebted or in love if she was turned into a pawn.
Her approach towards Fami and Fake Chainsaw Man was close to that, even though they were willing to work with her, she saw better value in controling them directly as pawns instead (justifiable for Fake Chainsaw Man, less so for Fami).

She was still trying to keep up her "Famine Devil" alibi at the time so saying that to Nayuta made sense. Also Denji was involved with that whole situation so admitting that she tried to kill them would've made Nayuta more hostile. Saying she just tried to turn Asa into a pawn calmed Nayuta down a bit.
Death turning people into a pawn seems like more of a last resort when she sees no other use for that person. She acknowledged that the ability has some unknown restrictions and that she prefers not to use it. In Fami's case it's probably just her being too retarded and knowing too much to be left to her own devices, not to mention she's dangerous lunatic despite her ineptitude.
Denji being a "knight in shining armor" to Asa during Falling Arc opened up the possibility of Death Devil guilt-tripping Asa into "saving" Denji and thus keeping them close.

I was gonna make a joke that Denji would have sex with Fumiko, but being a hybrid would make him immune to turning into Fumiko, and it would just be a nothingburger.
