>hoping i'd meet some new people but it never really worked out. now im a bit disheartened and i dont really go anymore
That's too bad. Try going to conventions for meeting people. Or book clubs in comic shops. Just stumbling upon people without having the structure of an activity requiers a certain kind of charismatic personality; being casual and non-threatening and interesting and inviting. It's like a game.
>you're giving money to an evil corporation
Meh, all corps are evil to a degree. I still have a phone and wear clothes that were made in cruel conditions. You learn to accept that in todays world, I suppose.
>support the small businesses
I agree that is important and try to do that as much as possible. A lot of refugees opened convenieance stores in my old hood and I tried to buy from them when possible insted of the big networks.
>the possibility of meeting people though i guess you don't really care about that
I could make friends and meet people if I want in all kinds of ways (like having convos in 4chan hehe). As I said, stumbling upon people takes effort (I believe I can do that if I really wanted to, from experience). And yeah, I have a good number of people in my real life already.
