I hate all the pseudo-intellectuals who repeat headcanon as fact while trying to sound deep and knowledgeable. Their favorite Youtuber e-celeb "loremaster" told them it was actually some real deep cut fact, and now they mistakenly think it was intended. Some elements of Shadow's backstory are a mystery on purpose. Why would you want to get rid of that mystery for them to confirm that Shadow was indeed a rip-off of Sonic? It's so boring. Isn't it much more interesting, instead, that Shadow just so happens to look like Sonic by pure coincidence? Making the "perfect being" resulted in someone extremely similar to Sonic. Maybe attempting to create perfection will always lead you to "a Sonic"?
